Austin Business Blogger's Club is Born

(Photo: Jason Alba, Thom Singer, Scott Ingram, Liz Handlin, Scott Allen at Guerros)

Last night I had a fabulous time meeting with some fellow bloggers, many of whom I have admired from afar. Thom Singer, Scott Ingram, Scott Allen, and Jason Alba who was visiting Austin from Utah. We all met for dinner at Guerro's and had such a fun time.

Great ideas, good conversation, and smart people. I left feeling very inspired. We are going to start meeting on the first Monday of every month for dinner and any/all Austin-based bloggers who write business related blogs are welcome to join us.

I would encourage you to check out the blogs written by each of the folks mentioned in this post and here is why:

Jason Alba's blog: http://www.jibberjobber.com/blog is a tremendous resource for bloggers, job seekers, recruiters, and hiring managers. The Jibber Jobber site is fast becoming a must-use for networkers and job seekers.

Thom Singer's blog: http://www.thomsinger.blogspot.com/ is a quick and uplifting daily must-read for anyone who is interested in other people. Thom is a great person who makes friends easily and, therefore, networks effortlessly. He has many great networking tips and has written two books on the topic. I like to read his blog because I always learn about other neat people who have done interesting things or have written useful books.

Scott Ingram's blog: http://www.networkinaustin.com/scott_ingram_blog.htm is an invaluable resource for anyone doing business or aspiring to do business in Austin, Texas. Scott is a dynamic guy who is in-the-know about everything that is going on in Austin. I met Scott for the first time last night and was really impressed with him and I also thought he was a lot of fun.

Scott Allen has more than one blog and he writes articles for many magazines and online journals including Fast Company Magazine. His blog is a great place to start reading his comments on networking and building your business using the Internet. http://www.thevirtualhandshake.com/blog/ He has also written a book, "Close Deals with the Right People: Faster and with Less Effort" which I am going to purchase and read as soon as possible.

Check out these great blogs and, if you are an Austin-based, business blogger please check back here or on Thom Singer's blog for details about our next Business Blogger Club dinner. Guaranteed to be fun and worth your time!

Liz - this was a blast and it was so great to meet you! I have a ton of respect for you as a person and a coach (you threw out a few questions that only a coach would ask during the conversation - I know its a part of you :) :))!
